GALs play a very special role in the family court, and have an important responsibility. I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology, and have been practicing law as a family lawyer for 28 years. I have been doing Title 22 GAL work for more than 25 years, and Title 19 GAL work for the past 15 years. My goal is always to diffuse contentiousness and find the best situation for the children. I encourage working with therapists and I am an involved and available guardian. I look for input from the parents, and work to educate them (I supply a reading list) about developmental issues they should consider.
