I am trained as a social worker so the background I rely most heavily upon in my work as a GAL is my knowledge of child development, systems theory and considering the person/people within the context of their environment and family culture. I also rely heavily upon my experience working with children and adults at the Kids First Center and my knowledge about the impact of family separation and divorce, parental conflict and parental alienation on the well being of children.
