As a GAL, I strive to work with a family to determine what is in the best interest of the child or children, including working with a family to attempt to ensure we are able to find a workable solution for parenting together so that the child or children benefit most. As a family law attorney I use the lens of the best interest of the child as my framework for approaching all family matters when advising my clients; this premise carries over to my practice as a GAL. I believe it is important for the parents of children to work together to achieve a plan and strategy for parenting that works for their family and each other, as it is through working together that will provide strength and stability for the child or children.
